Kim Ward is known for her love for the beach, sea, sea birds, water and sand which helped her paint beach scenes that make you feel as if you may walk right in.
She studied art education in college and attributed her skills to her high school art teacher.
Commissioned portraits of children and people are one of her specialties. He taught her to paint the human figure and everything that she painted with realism, something that you do not see much any more.
Her Gulf ocean seascape scenes include
sandpipers, seagulls, sea shellls, pelicans, mermaids
water inlet paintings with herons.
Her detailed realism far surpasses any
photo which is why her art work is often mistaken for photographs. She loves painting beccause her paintings madk other people happy.
She also loves people and animals, but there was something about the sea that drew her so close you can almost feel her touch of each stroke when you look at what she painted.
Her art has a
calming and meditative affect on the people who see them.
